Twitch Plus Program FAQ (USD)
The Twitch Plus Program (previously known as the Partner Plus Program) is a milestone framework designed to reward qualifying creators with a higher share of subscription earnings. Below are the essential guidelines for understanding points, calculations, and USD payout payouts.
How do Twitch Plus Points work?
Plus Points determine your qualification level and are awarded based on active recurring subscriptions. Points are calculated as follows:
- Tier 1 Subscription: 1 Point
- Tier 2 Subscription: 2 Points
- Tier 3 Subscription: 6 Points
What are the qualification thresholds and payouts in USD?
There are two levels of revenue share splits in the Plus Program:
- Level 1 (100 Points): Grants a 60/40 payout split on paid recurring subscriptions.
- Level 2 (350 Points): Grants a 70/30 payout split on paid recurring subscriptions.
Under the standard agreement, streamers without Plus Program qualification receive a 50/50 payout split.
How much USD does a streamer make per sub at each tier?
Assuming standard, non-localized regional pricing, here is the net income breakdown a qualifying creator receives:
- Tier 1 Sub ($4.99 USD): Standard pays $2.50 USD, 60% pays $3.00 USD, and 70% pays $3.50 USD.
- Tier 2 Sub ($9.99 USD): Standard pays $5.00 USD, 60% pays $6.00 USD, and 70% pays $7.00 USD.
- Tier 3 Sub ($24.99 USD): Standard pays $12.50 USD, 60% pays $15.00 USD, and 70% pays $17.50 USD.
Are Prime Gaming subs or gifted subs included in the points total?
No. Gifted subscriptions and Prime Gaming subscriptions do NOT earn Plus Points. Only paid, recurring monthly subscriptions (individual or community-activated) contribute to your point total. However, once you are qualified for the 60% or 70% split, those splits apply to all paid recurring subs you receive.
How long do you have to maintain the points to qualify?
You must maintain the points threshold (100 or 350 points) for three consecutive months. Once you meet this criterion, the upgraded split is locked in for the next 12 months, even if your points drop below the threshold during that period.
Is there a cap on the 70/30 split earnings?
Yes. The premium 70/30 split applies to the first $100,000 USD of gross subscription revenue earned in a calendar year. Once you surpass this annual cap, your revenue split reverts to the standard 50/50 tier for the remainder of the year and resets on January 1st.
